I love Twitter.

(In fact, you may be reading this post as a result of my Twitter marketing.)

I learned a lot about what “worked” and what was a HUGE no-no in the Twitterverse.

So, when I came across this infographic, I couldn’t help but smile.

Has your brand committed some of these no-no’s? Or have you been doing social media right?

Key Takeaways

  1. Do engage with your followers.
  2. Don’t accidentally tweet about getting wasted from your company’s account.
  3. Do share interesting content & images (like this infographic!).
  4. Don’t drop “F” bombs on your company’s account.
  5. Don’t spam your followers’ inboxes about your company.
  6. Don’t take advantage of sad events (celebrity deaths, hurricanes, etc.) to promote your business.
  7. Don’t post pics of or about your lunch  –  especially with pictures.
  8. Don’t tweet at 4am, while your audience is sleeping  –  unless your brand is international.
  9. Don’t post insensitive tweets in the name of self-promotion.
  10. Don’t tweet passive-aggressive statements about people you’re mad at.
  11. Don’t let an unhappy intern handle your official account & bash your CEO.
  12. Don’t post about politics. It makes people feel uncomfortable.

I think we’ve all posted something on social media that we aren’t proud of or committed a social media faux pas.

Make sure the person in charge of your social media brand is on their game & always working in the interest of the company.

Have you done any of these? If so, which one?
